About My ADHD Path

Built to help UK adults navigate ADHD assessment, diagnosis, and rights with clarity and confidence.

What My ADHD Path Does

My ADHD Path is an AI-powered navigation tool designed specifically for adults navigating ADHD in the UK. We provide clear, evidence-based guidance on:

  • NHS Right to Choose assessments: The pathway most GPs don't tell you about
  • Assessment navigation: How the NHS process works, what to expect, and how to prepare
  • ADHD medications: Methylphenidate, lisdexamfetamine, atomoxetine - what they do and how to work with your GP
  • Workplace rights: What the Equality Act 2010 means for you and how to ask for reasonable adjustments

Why We Built This

The Right to Choose pathway is confusing. Most GPs never mention it. NHS wait times stretch to 3-5 years. Adults are left asking questions with nowhere to turn.

My ADHD Path exists because this gap in support shouldn't exist. You have the right to be assessed for ADHD. You deserve to understand that right and how to use it.

We built this tool to demystify the process so you can have confident conversations with your GP, choose your assessment provider, understand your options, and know your rights at work.

Our Expertise

Every guide on My ADHD Path is built on:

  • NHS guidelines: Current assessment and medication protocols from NHS England and NICE
  • Right to Choose legislation: Section 75 of the NHS Act 2006 and how it actually works in practice
  • Workplace law: The Equality Act 2010 and how it applies to ADHD at work
  • Real patient experiences: What the process actually feels like, from assessment through diagnosis and beyond

We continuously update our guidance as NHS practices evolve and new medication options become available. Our comprehensive guides are evidence of our commitment to accuracy and depth.

Why We Built This

Our founder was diagnosed with ADHD at 48. After decades of wondering why everyday things felt so much harder than they should, a single assessment changed everything. But getting there was a battle - months of confusion, conflicting advice, a system that felt designed to make you give up.

That experience is not unusual. ADHD diagnoses in UK adults have risen sharply in recent years, particularly among women who were overlooked as children because their symptoms didn't look like the textbook. The demand for assessment has surged, but the support has not kept pace. NHS waiting lists stretch to years in some areas. GPs are often unsure about Right to Choose. And people are left Googling their way through one of the most important healthcare decisions of their lives.

We built My ADHD Path because nobody should have to figure this out alone. The information exists - it is just scattered across dozens of NHS pages, legal documents, and forum threads. We have brought it all together in one place, written in plain English, so you can understand your options and take the next step with confidence.

Whether you are just starting to wonder if you have ADHD, fighting for a referral, or trying to make sense of life after diagnosis - we are here to make the path clearer.
